LISBON — The town will host a public forum Tuesday evening featuring candidates for School Committee, Town Council and Water Commission.

Each candidate has been invited to share prepared statements on why they are running, their qualifications and their plans for office.

Only the School Committee race is contested, with five candidates competing for three three-year terms. Incumbent Kelli Rogers, Laura Craig, Leonard Lednum, Chelsey Harvey and Mary Jane Wellington will all be on the Nov. 8 ballot.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to ask School Committee members about their stance on issues during the forum.

For Town Council, incumbents Donald Fellows and Mark Lunt and Jo-Jean Keller are running uncontested for three-year terms. Councilor Jason Smith is not running for reelection.

Christine Cain, who was appointed to the Town Council earlier this year, is running unopposed to finish her seat’s remaining two years.

Arthur McLean is running for reelection to the Water Commission.

Candidates have been asked to introduce themselves and answer the following questions in their prepared statements:

  • What are your qualifications for the office you seek?
  • What motivated you to run for the office you seek?
  • Do you have sufficient time and energy to devote to this position?
  • With one or two meetings a month, all boards are limited in what they can accomplish. How should the board decide what is most important?
  • Think of an issue facing Lisbon that you care about. Do you have a solution you would like to bring forward?

The forum will take place at the Town Office at 6 p.m. It will also be livestreamed online.
