Rita Rose Beaulieu

AUBURN – Rita Rose Ratte Beaulieu, 92, passed away in Auburn on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, after a brief illness. She was born the fifth of seven children to Albert Ratte and Bernadette Picard. She attended St. Peter’s Catholic School in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School. On June 2, 1951, she married Roland Beaulieu at St. Peter’s Basilica, settling in Lewiston where they raised three children. For 42 years Rita was employed with St. Joseph Church. After retirement, she volunteered for many years at CMMC and St. Mary’s Hospitals in the gift shop where she had many close friendships.

Family was the center of her life. She spent countless hours sharing special times with her seven grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren. She and Roland enjoyed many vacations golfing and visiting family.

Rita is survived by her son, David Beaulieu and daughter-in-law Bonnie of Avon, Conn., their sons, Ben (Maggie), and Zach (Rachel); daughter Susan Tuttle and son-in law John of Lewiston and their daughters Kim Tuttle (John) of Reston, Va., and Sara Berube and husband Brian of Lewiston; and daughter Diane Lewis (Michael) of Epping, N.H., and her children Jessie Kreger and husband Matthew of Eliot; Jennifer Fitzgerald and husband Michael of Epping, N.H., and Paul Chiarantona and wife Molly of Dover, N.H. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren: Logan and Laney, Hudson and Gracie, Cullen and Sylvie, and Roland and Frederick. She has one surviving sibling, Millie Guay. Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Roland of 70 years.

Visitations will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday October 29, at Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston. A Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday October 31, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 67 Frost Hill Ave, Lisbon Falls. Burial services will be conducted privately with family.
