PARIS — Elias Soehren threw for 291 yards and six touchdowns in Oxford Hills’ 55-14 win over Scarborough at Gouin Athletic Complex on Friday.
The victory wraps up a unbeaten regular season for the Vikings (9-0), who will be the first seed in the Class A football playoffs. The Red Storm finish the regular season 5-4 and also will move on to the postseason.
Soehren’s favorite target Friday was Lincoln Merrill, who finished with six catches for 118 yards and one touchdown. Tanner Bickford caught four balls, including two TDs, for 79 yards, and Teigan Pelletier made two catches for 34 yards and a score.
Trey Morrison led Oxford Hill’s rushing attack with 169 yards on 14 carries, including a 72-yard TD run in the first quarter.
Jake Carson opened the scoring for the Vikings by returning an interception 35 yards for a 7-0 lead.
De’Angelo Alston threw a touchdown in the first and second quarters for Scarborough.
OLD ORCHARD BEACH 28, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 16: The fourth-seeded Seagulls (6-2) pulled away in the second half to stun the top-seeded Falcons (7-1) at Rumford and advance to the eight-man Small School South final.
Old Orchard Beach, which lost 48-20 at Mountain Valley earlier this season, led 6-0 at halftime, fell behind 8-6 early in the third quarter, then scored two touchdowns to take a 22-8 lead entering the fourth.
The Seagulls will play at No. 3 Dirigo in the regional final. The Cougars, at home, beat OOB 26-20 in the second game of the season.
YARMOUTH 40, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 6: Sam Bradford threw for two touchdowns and ran for two scores to power the second-seeded Clippers (9-1) past the third-seeded Phoenix (5-4) in an eight-man Large School South semifinal at Yarmouth.
Spencer LaBrecque returned an interception for a touchdown and also had a touchdown catch. Rufus McVane blocked a punt and returned it for a touchdown, and Kai Sullivan caught a TD pass.
