One of the big social affairs this week will be the “sheet and pillowcase” party at Kora Temple Tuesday evening given by the men of Arab Patrol.
50 Years Ago: 1972
Mrs. Harold O. Cooper, Mrs. Ann Haddad and Mrs. Ellen Lane are in charge of the “Eats and Treats” display, which is composed of home-made goodies, at the Mini-Fair being sponsored by parishioners at St. Michael’s Episcopal| Church. These women are being assisted by Mrs. T. Hedley Reynolds and Mrs. Marion R. Anderson. The fair will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov 2 at the parish hall with a chicken salad luncheon served from 12:30 to 1:30. A variety of other items will be available, including many knit goods.
25 Years Ago: 1997
The Leavitt Area High School annual Harvest Supper will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the school. It is being hosted by the seniors as a fund-raiser. They will be dressed in costume and those attending can as well. The menu will include casseroles, salad, dessert, punch, coffee. There will be games, costume contests and more. There will be a haunted house with different levels of fright. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for students, free under 5. The haunted house is $1.00,, $1.50 to play all the games, or 25 cents for each game.
