Clayton Cordell Phillips

MECHANIC FALLS – Clayton Cordell Phillips, born August 30, 1938 to Daisy Robbins in Jamestown, Tenn., passed away peacefully at his home on Nov. 12, 2022.

Clay joined the Navy at 17 and proudly served for seven years. He liked talking about the countries he visited and his time aboard the USS Shadwell. During his time stationed in Norfolk, Va. he met his one true love, Eileen “Pat” Bronk, in 1959. They were married just six weeks later.

Clay raised his three children, Darnell, Clayton Jr, and Rebecca, in Poland later moving to Mechanic Falls. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, woodworking, Halloween and driving. He drove for Hudson Bus then spent 27 years with Auburn School Department before retiring.

Clay will be missed by many but mostly by his wife of 63 years, Pat. He is survived by his wife; three children; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sisters, Barbara and Crystal; and many nieces and nephews.

Per Clay’s wishes no services are being held. Instead the family asks that you take a moment and remember who he was to you.
