RUMFORD – Marion D. Gallant, 94, lifelong resident of Rumford, died Thursday evening Dec. 1, 2022 at her home on Knox Street with family at her side. She was born in Rumford on May 22, 1928, a daughter of the late George M. and Mary Ida (Arsenault) Gallant and was educated in Rumford schools.

On Nov. 11, 1950, she married Maurice C. Gallant Sr. and they had six children.

She is survived by her son Maurice (Gail), Marion, Maureen “Trinket” (Dave), and Mark (Patrice); eight grandchildren, Aaron, Craig and Brady Fergola, Mark Gallant Jr., Amanda Brelsford, John Gallant, Phoebe Butlin, and Megan Murphy; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters Rita Perry and Ida Luther.

Marion was predeceased by her husband Maurice; two sons Robert (Gee) and infant son Richard; and seven brothers.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Sat. Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. at Parish of the Holy Savior / St. Athanasius-St. John. At her prior request, there are no visiting hours.

Committal at St. John’s Cemetery.
