Normand B. Bilodeau

AUBURN – Normand B. Bilodeau, 80, a resident of Auburn, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, at Clover Manor Nursing Home in Auburn, following a lingering illness.

He was born May 18, 1942, in Lewiston, the son of Raymond and Berthe (Bernard) Bilodeau. He attended schools including St. Dom’s and Lisbon High School ultimately getting his GED. On May 18, 1963, he married the love of his life, Constance Lacombe. They recently celebrated their 59th anniversary. Together they made their home and raised their family.

Normand initially started an electrical company – Pine Tree Electric. After many years of ownership, he sold this to pursue his true passion of being a police officer. Normand worked as a police officer for the City of Auburn, retiring after 35 years of service. He truly treasured his time serving his community and continued to have friendships with the officers – a true brotherhood. He continued his connection with his police brothers by gathering on Saturdays at Reid’s Gun Shop where they would reminisce about old times.

In his free time early on, he coached his son’s baseball teams with Auburn Suburban Little League, was a member and former president of the Lewiston Eagles, a member of the Auburn Snow Groomers Snowmobile Club and The Bear Pond Improvement Association. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a 3rd degree knight. He was also a proud member of the Blue Knight Police Motorcycle Club where he served as Treasurer and built some amazing friendships. With all that his first true love was his family. He treasured spending time at the family lake house on Bear Pond, water skiing, boating or just enjoying the sunset.

He is survived by his wife Constance “Connie” Bilodeau of Auburn; daughter Stacey Morris and husband Daniel of Lewiston; brother Bernard Bilodeau and wife Elaine of Lewiston; daughter- -in-law Nanette Bilodeau of Hebron; goddaughter Linda Tripp and husband Peter of Greene; grandchildren, Sean Bilodeau and Caroline Schnell, Nathan Bilodeau and fiancée Courtney Sawyer, Nicholas, Abigail, and Jocelyn Labonte, Bernard and Adele Patsky, and Nathan and Delaney Morris, great-grandchildren, Claire Bilodeau, Emma Thurlow, and Josephine Bilodeau. He is also survived by many close friends and extended family.

He was predeceased by his parents; sister Jacqueline Dickey; and son Stephen Bilodeau on Nov. 5, 2018.
