St. Michael’s Church has started a new Feed the Hungry program.

Members of the church donated meat, cheese, bread, soups, peanut butter and jelly to make a simple lunch for people of Lewiston and Auburn.

There were two stations one recent Saturday morning, one at the church on Pleasant Street in Auburn and the other outside Trinity Church in Lewiston, according to a news release from Mary Rider, presence proctor at Montello School.

Members of the church handed out 30 sandwiches and soups. The rest of the food was donated to Hope Haven in Lewiston. The church aims to continue this mission once a month.

St. Michael’s Church is located at 78 Pleasant St. in Auburn. Services are held at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.

There also is a Sunday school for children at the same time as the service. St. Michael’s welcomes all people.
