BUCKFIELD — Jayce Brophy dropped in a game-high 27 points for Dirigo in a 55-27 MVC girls basketball win against Buckfield on Thursday.

Grace Robbins chipped in with 15 points for the Cougars (3-2), which jumped out to leads of 24-3 after one quarter and 35-6 at halftime.

Kianna Finnegan scored eight points to lead the Bucks (1-4) and Sarae Devoe added seven.

EDWARD LITTLE 53, PORTLAND 44: Rachel Penny scored 18 points and Layla Facchiano added 15 as the Red Eddies (2-5) got the better of the Bulldogs (2-3) in Portland.

Lucy Tidd scored 15 points for Portland. Eliza Stein chipped in with 12.

MARANACOOK 34, LEAVITT 31: Natalie Mohlar scored 12 points to help the Black Bears (4-1) to the win at Turner.

Eliza Pattershall added nine points for Maranacook. Caitlyn McCoy scored 11 points for Leavitt (4-2).

BOYS BASKETBALL
MT. BLUE 74, LAWRENCE 45: Jayden Meader led the Cougars (5-2) with 24 points in a win over the Bulldogs (3-3) in Farmington.

Evans Sterling finished with 18 points and Zach Poisson added 14 for Mt. Blue.

Conner Nutting led Lawrence with 12 points.

LEWISTON 75, DEERING 64: Jabril Holloman and Yusuf Dekane scored 27 points apiece as the Blue Devils (4-2) jumped out to a 61-38 advantage and downed the host Rams (0-5).

Tripp Marston had 21 points for Deering, with Justin Jamal adding 15 and Sam Anderson 14.

BOYS PREP HOCKEY
NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 5, BERWICK ACADEMY 0:
Nick Pelletier of Lewiston and Ethan Brochu of Auburn each tallied a goal and an assist in the Panthers’ win over the Bulldogs at Travis Roy Arena in Yarmouth.

Hugo Daniel potted two tallies while Zach Stabb also scored. Lewiston’s Daxton St. Hilaire added an assist.

Goalie Aidan Farion stopped 25 shots for the shutout.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
MARIETTA 75, BATES 53: Frank Waganfeald led the Pioneers with 16 points in the win over the Bobcats at the Daytona Beach Shootout.

David Sanford added 12 points in the win for the Marietta, a school in Ohio.

Steph Baxter and Lewiston native David Omasombo each scored nine points for Bates.
