Christmas may have been cold, but some Mainers without power felt warmth from volunteers
There was plenty of Christmas spirit on display on Sunday, as Red Cross volunteers welcomed people at a warming center in Standish and volunteers cooked up a free Christmas feast in Buxton. Meanwhile lineworkers and tree crews worked through the holiday, trying to get the heat and lights back on.

Nearly 40,000 households still waiting for power Sunday in bitter cold temperatures
A spokesperson for Central Maine Power said Sunday there were about 2,000 workers out on Christmas, restoring power to populated outage areas and more remote communities.
