FARMINGTON — Terion Moss poured in 26 points to lead the UMaine-Farmington men’s basketball team to an 80-71 win over Northern Vermont-Johnson on Friday.

Moss, who made 11 of 20 shots from the field, also tallied five rebounds and five assists.

Kyle Donlin and Dylan Griffin also scored in double figures for the Beavers (6-4, 2-0 NAC), with 19 and 11 points, respectively.

Yeskin Walker Williams led the Badgers (6-9, 1-4) with 24 points to go along with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Maleek View added 16 points and Samuel Stephens finished with 11.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
NVU-JOHNSON 62, UMF 57: Paris Atuahene led all scorers with 20 points and swiped five steals as the Badgers (7-4, 3-2 NAC) rallied past the Beavers (1-9, 0-2 NAC) in Farmington.

University of Maine at Farmington trailed by five after one quarter but outscored Northern Vermont-Johnson 17-8 in the second to take a 30-26 lead into halftime. The Beavers still led 44-42 heading into the fourth before the Badgers closed out the North Atlantic Conference victory.

Jalyn Stacey powered the Beavers with 15 points and 15 rebounds, and Jaycie Stevens dropped in 10 points and dished out seven assists.

MEN’S HOCKEY
MAINE 1, ALASKA ANCHORAGE 0: Thomas Freel pounced on a loose puck in front of the net after a blocked shot and scored the only goal with 20 seconds remaining, lifting Maine over Alaska Anchorage in a men’s hockey game Friday night at Alfond Arena.

Victor Ostman made 25 saves for his third shutout of the season as the Black Bears improve to 7-9-2.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY
BOSTON COLLEGE 4, MAINE 1: Abby Newhook, Hannah Bilka and Kelly Browne each had a goal and an assist for the Eagles (13-7-1, 11-5 Hockey East) in a win over the Black Bears (11-12, 8-8) in Boston.

Mira Seregely gave Maine a 1-0 lead with a power-play goal in the first period, but Newhook tied it just 23 seconds later, and the Eagles broke it open with three goals in the second.
