Melanie Ann Brown
LEWISTON – Melanie Ann Brown, 65, of Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, following a brief illness.
She was born in Dover, N.H. on Aug. 2, 1957, the daughter of Oscar B. and Virginia (Titus) Brown. Through the years she was employed by Pine Tree Composition, Unum, the Dept. of Health and Human Services and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, which she retired from in 2021.
She supported many friends and fellow kidney transplant recipients throughout her 29-year journey, and was an enthusiastic crafter, making many friends as she stitched, crocheted, stamped and beaded her way on her path.
Melanie will be sadly missed by her friends and family, whom she cared for deeply and did everything she could for.
She was predeceased by her parents; and brother, Alan Brown.
She is survived by her son, Nathan Brown, Sr.; and her sister, Linda Duarte, both of Lewiston, her brother, Steven Brown and his wife Arlene of Fairfield, her sister, Jennifer Merrow and husband Lawrence of Sidney; nieces Karen Polchan, Kelly Rigby and their families; her special friends Miche and Ken; as well as three grandchildren, Nathan Jr., Sierra and Mackenzie. Your wings were ready, Mel, but our hearts were not.
