Gisele L. Auger

LEWISTON – Gisele L. Auger, 95, of Lewiston, passed away on Jan. 11, 2023 at Montello Manor where she was a resident.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 17, 1927 the daughter of Joseph and Lucie (Joly) Langlois and graduated from the Lewiston High School.

Gisele married Leon M. Auger on July 10, 1948 and together they raised their three children, Richard, Claire, and Diane. They were married for 39 years before Leon’s passing on July 19, 1987.

She worked as an inspector for Crest Shoe until she retired. Gisele was an active and loyal member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne, she was a volunteer for the Search Program and called shut ins to check in and talk with them. Some of her favorite activities included crossword puzzles, playing cards, reading books, but none of them could compete with her love of Bingo.

She is survived by her three children, Claire (Daniel )Boulet of Lewiston, Richard Auger of Sanford, and Diane Auger of Brunswick; two grandchildren, Shawn (Semoy) Boulet of Portland and Jennifer (Tamir) Kuznits of Pennsylvania; five great-grandchildren Ana and Sophia Boulet of Portland and Aviva, Leo, and Ellie Kuznits of Pennsylvania; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; parents; four sisters, and two brothers.
