PERU – June Dragoon, 83, passed away Monday Jan. 16, 2023, at the Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice House. She was a resident of Peru, Maine for many years.

Born in Rumford on Sept. 18, 1939, she was the daughter of Henry and Marie (Bolduc) Fournier. She was a graduate of Stephens High School. June worked for many years as a sales clerk for Carlisles clothing store, always meticulously dressed and fashion forward. She was a Communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church in Rumford.

June married the love of her life, James Dragoon, on Sept. 5, 1959. He passed away on Sept. 6, 2012. June was an accomplished Artist, she enjoyed gardening, camping, hiking and especially spending time with her family.

Survivors include brother-in-law Peter Dragoon; two daughters, Deborah Prue and husband Robert of Wales, and Penny Rock and husband Thomas of Peru, a son Michael Dragoon and wife April of Peru; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Saric and husband Alen of Lisbon Falls, Travis Dragoon and wife Brittany of Peru, Stephanie Dragoon and fiancé Dillon Shaw of Augusta, Angela Knox and fiancé Whitney Thurlow of Old Orchard, Jeremy Prue and wife Xenia of Lewiston, ME, Joshua Prue and wife Emily of Hermon, Jamie Prue and companion Brian Rancourt of Sabattus, Katelyn Dufault and husband Steve of West Paris, and Samuel Rock of Biddeford; great-grandchildren, Izadore, Ivan and Indiana Dragoon of Peru, Esma and Iyla Saric of Lisbon Falls, Kali and Griffin of Hermon and Mariella Prue of Lewiston.

June was predeceased by her husband; parents; and granddaughter Samantha Rock.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday May 6, 2023 at the Parish of the Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church 126 Maine Ave, Rumford. Interment will be in the Demeritt Cemetery in Peru.
