Jacqueline Carmen Therrien

LEWISTON – Jacqueline Carmen Therrien, 82, of Lewiston passed away unexpectedly Friday afternoon, Jan. 20, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born on Aug. 11, 1940, in Lewiston, the daughter of Demetrius and Irene (Rioux) Chretien. She married the love of her life, Maurice Therrien on June 8, 1963 and they were married for 41 years before his passing.

She grew up in Lewiston and attended Catholic schools. She graduated from St. Dom’s in 1958. She worked for Lewiston Public Works before retiring in 2005. She was a lively lady who enjoyed line dancing and socializing with her friends. She found joy in many things in life, including reading, working in her beautiful flower beds, and “making” puzzles on her iPad to share with her family. Her favorite way to spend her time was surrounded by her children, granddaughter, and other family members. 

She is survived by her daughters; Jeannine and Joseph Schaffer Jr of Virginia, Sharon Vallee of Lewiston, and son Gerald Therrien and Heather Burr of Cumberland. She leaves behind a sister, Claudette Larochelle of Lewiston. She also leaves behind one granddaughter Ariana Vallee, step granddaughters Jessica and William Pulliam and Laura Howe, one step great granddaughter Mina Pulliam, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband and parents.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Friday January 27, from 3-6 p.m., at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, 217 Turner St. Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday January 28, at 1 p.m., at The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 122 Ash St. Lewiston. A committal service will take place on Monday January 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston.
