National U.S. Miss Maine Teen 2023 Trinity Bean, a 17-year-old junior at Gray-New Gloucester High School and a native of Gray, is representing the state as the 2023 Miss Maine Teen in the National U.S. Pageant.

The pageant is scheduled to take place in August in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Bean is competing for the title of NUS Miss Teen United States, according to a news release from Sarah Bean, her mother.

Bean plays in both varsity high school soccer and premier club soccer. She was a member of the 2005 Girls Maine Olympic Development Soccer Team for five years and represented Maine in 2022 at the Regional Olympic Development Camp. During the summer months, she works with Gray and New Gloucester pre-kindergarten students.

Bean’s platform is anti-bullying and increasing awareness in Maine schools, as part of the National CROWN Cares platform. She also strives to create awareness about ethical pet ownership and actively supports the local Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland.

She volunteers at the local library, where she reads to children, and annually works to keep the Libby Hill Trails in Gray litter-free. She raises funds for the Portland ARLGP animal center to fulfill their wish lists and collects food for food pantries.

Throughout the holiday season, Bean has participated in various Christmas toy donation campaigns, including Toys4Tots. She surprises the residents of the local retirement home with handcrafted holiday greeting cards.

Bean is the daughter of Brendon and Sarah Bean of Gray.
