DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am looking for a local company to help me move from a small house to an even smaller home just 20 miles away. I do not have a lot of belongings, but need help. I will have everything packed. I just need a mover to take the boxes and some furniture, the biggest items being a queen-size mattress and a recliner. I want to hire a reputable company that is insured.—Ida, Monmouth

ANSWER: In the Rolodex, I have Liberty Bell Moving & Storage ( Call it at 1-800- 891-8409 or email to discuss your needs and get an estimate. I have heard many good things about this firm.

Blanchette Moving & Storage ( is another choice. Call it at 207-782-7429 or email

Red’s Moving Inc. ( is another recommendation. It can be reached at 207-784-8766 or

Readers, let me know if you have had a good experience with a local moving company and want to recommend it.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We are new to the area and love Sun Spots. We also really like and appreciate good Chinese food. Would readers please share their favorite places and what they like most about them? We like to go in and sit down sometimes for a date night, but mostly we do takeout because we have an unpredictable toddler.

This is my first letter to Sun Spots and I am sure there will be others. It is such a great resource.—Cecilia—Auburn

ANSWER: Here is your chance, readers: Tell Cecelia all about your favorite Chinese food.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Do you know of anyone in the area who accepts used and unused greeting cards? I have many to donate and am willing to ship them. No name, no town

ANSWER: I am putting this out into Sun Spots Land in the event a senior center, child care center or a crafter would like the cards.

You can also send them to the recycled card program at St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, 100 St. Jude’s St., Boulder City, Nevada 89005.

Send only the front of the cards. The children make new cards to sell to make money for the ranch. It is a great way to repurpose cards for a good cause instead of disposing of them.

Hallmark, American Greetings and Disney cards are not accepted due to copyright laws. You can also donate new cards with or without envelopes. For more information, call 1-702-294-7100.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Once again, we need computer help. I know you have published information before with names from the Rolodex. We have used one of them and want to contact her again, although this time, I think we need new hardware. Can you help?—Rose, no town

ANSWER: It sounds like you used Angela Carter in Greene (, , 207-520-9573. She should be able to help you, but I also want to mention ACS (Action Computer Services) in Lewiston (, 207-786-8740) and Buck Buchanan at PCS (Professional Computer Services) (,, 207-784-6295). I wish you luck. Computer issues can be frustrating.

Readers, if you have other computer tech people you want to recommend, now is the time.
