PARIS — Elias Soehren and Cole Pulkkinen scored 19 and 16 points, respectively, as Oxford Hills shook off Hampden Academy with a 70-64 boys basketball victory Thursday night and finish the regular season with a 17-1 record.
Soehren nailed down five 3-pointers and Pulkkinen went 4 for 5 at the foul line. Tanner Bickford added 11 points and Teigan Pelletier chipped in 10.
Hampden’s Zach McLaughlin scored the game-high 23 points and JJ Wolfington supplied 22.
DIRIGO 69, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 54: Charlie Houghton deposited 26 points and made three 3-pointers to steer Dirigo (17-1) past Mountain Valley (9-9) in Dixfield.
Dakota Tompkins was good for 17 points and went 6 for 6 at the foul line. Airick Richard scored 12.
Mountain Valley’s Jake New scored 15 points and Leon Salmon added 10.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
MONMOUTH 51, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 36: Grace Levesque scored 14 points and Kaitlyn Frost and Reese Beaudoin each supplied 12 points in the Mustangs’ (12-6) victory over the Falcons (7-11) in Rumford.
Mountain Valley was in command at the half with a 25-17 lead, but Monmouth Academy erupted with 25 points in the third quarter. Holly Hunt contributed to Monmouth’s cause with 11 points.
For Mountain Valley, Emma Clukey scored 12 points.
OXFORD HILLS 54, HAMPDEN 36: Ella Pelletier scored a game-high 22 points and went 5 for 5 at foul line as the Vikings overpowered the Broncos (10-8) in Hampden to finish the season with a 17-1 record.
Sierra Carson added 18 points to help guide Oxford Hills to victory.
Hampden’s Bella McLaughlin scored 13 points and Kennedy Fortin had 12.
BOYS HOCKEY
ST. DOMINIC 6, OLD TOWN/ORONO 3: Ben Dumais had two goals and two assists for the Saints (7-9) in the win over the Black Bears (3-8-1) at Alfond Arena in Orono.
Miles Frenette lit the lamp once and had two helpers, while teammates Timothee Ouellette and Ridge Dionne each had a goal and an assist in the win. Curtis Wheeler also potted a goal. Jayden Lynn made 18 saves for St. Dom’s.
Dylan Davis scored twice for Old Town/Orono and Ian Bouchard also scored. Alex McCannell assisted on all three goals and Brock Parks made 30 saves.
