100 Years Ago: 1923

March 9th is the date set for the “Hello Girls Ball” of Norway and committees are busy. They promise “Plenty of fox trots, many surprises and lots of fun.” The floor manager is Charles S. Weed and the aides will be the operators. Secondary aides are Stuart W. Goodwin and George Hill of Norway, Charles Bowker and Stanley Wheeler of South Paris.

50 Years Ago: 1973

The card party and hair style show held annually by the Lewiston-Auburn Cosmetologists Association for the mentally handicapped children of the area will take place at the Knights of Columbus clubhouse on Tuesday evening, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. Serving as general chairman of this year’s party is Mrs. Joan Johnson who is announcing her assisting committee soon.

25 Years Ago: 1998

The YWCA announces the school vacation week schedule for Magic YWorld and other pool activities. Magic YWorld will be open from 2 to 4:30 p.m. through Sunday with a regular fee of $3 for members, $5 for nonmembers. Everyone is invited. Also featured will be “Try Me Week”  with all open swims $1 a visit for members and nonmembers.
