Rosaire E. Poisson

LEWISTON – Rosaire Poisson, 95, died peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2023, at d’Youville Pavilion following a long illness. He was born in Auburn, on Aug. 3, 1927, a son of William and Eva (Lavoie) Poisson. Rosaire married the love of his life, Albertine Hebert on June 25, 1949. They would have celebrated 74 years of marriage this year. He owned and operated Poisson’s Upholstery for 38 years, retiring in 1993. Rosaire was a hard worker but enjoyed time with his bowling league each week and traveling around the country on bus tours with Albertine and his brother-in-law and his wife. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was holiday gatherings, weekend bean suppers, playing cards, rocking in his chair in the garage or the many Summer lobster feeds, he always smiled and loved to crack a good joke. 

He leaves behind his loving wife Albertine of Lewiston; his daughters Pauline Pelletier and her husband Gerry of Lewiston and Nancy Kenney and her husband Ed of Lewiston; four grandchildren Tracie Washburn and husband Trent, Kristine Birkel and husband Sean, Scott Bourgoin and wife Katie and Kellie Pelletier; six great-grandchildren Aiden and Alison Bourgoin, Logan and Henry Birkel and Carter and Miles Washburn; eight sisters-in-law Mildred Rioux, Madelyn Bowie, Evelyn Jean, Lucille Gilbert, Marcella Hebert, Bernadette Posnick, Janet Baron and Sandra Dumais; and brothers-in-law Roger Hebert, Reginald Hebert and Marcel Hebert and many nieces and nephews. Rosaire was predeceased by by his brothers Lucien and Adrien Poisson, three brothers-in-law Clifford Hebert, Robert Hebert and Ronald Hebert and four sisters-in-law Verna Levesque, Cecile Levesque, Lorena Sedgley and Del Lessard.

Visitation Fortin Group / LEWISTON Sunday February 26, from 3-6 p.m. Funeral in the funeral home Monday February 27, at 11 a.m.

Committal Prayers to follow at St . Peter’s Cemetery.
