LIVERMORE FALLS — Spruce Mountain Adult Education, in cooperation with the CareerCenter and the Maine Department of Labor’s Rapid Response Team, will host a training resource fair from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday.

The fair is for Pixelle Androscoggin Mill workers and the general public. It will feature skills training and information about school and business startups. In addition, the fair will feature information about how to prepare for retirement and options for available health care coverage.

It will be held at the Regional School Union 73 adult education offices at 9 Cedar St.

Pixelle Specialty Solutions of Pennsylvania announced in September it would closing the mill in Jay during the first quarter of 2023. On Wednesday, it announced the mill may be closing as early as March 6, more than a month earlier than expected. The closure will affect 230 workers.
