NEW SHARON — The town will hold elections from noon to 7 p.m. Friday at the town office at 11 School Lane.

The annual Town Meeting open at 9 a.m. Saturday at Cape Cod Elementary School at 516 Cape Cod Hill Road.

Select Board Chairperson Lorna Nichols is up for reelection. First elected in 2014, she has completed three terms.

Nichols also served as town manager for Buckfield from September 2021 to August 2022 before becoming town manager for Belgrade.

Her opponent, Kevin Libby, is a member of the Planning Board. Originally from Jay, Libby said he wants to be an active part of the community and be a part of change within the community.

Outside of politics, Libby is a family man and an avid hunter and owner of Libby’s Upland Waterfowl, which raises mallard ducks to help train dogs in waterfowl hunting.

Other positions up for election are Water District trustee, town clerk and tax collector. Pamela Adams is running for town clerk and tax collector and Nathan Bartlett is running for the Water District trustee, both are uncontested.
