I attended the Speak Up For Life Event held at East Auburn Baptist Church about one month ago.
Rep. Laurel Libby of Auburn invited her church to come learn how to interact with the Maine Legislature, in great part due to Gov. Janet Mills proposing an abortion bill that would equate Maine with North Korea and China abortion laws.
The packed and motivated church crowd learned much in Rep. Libby’s presentation, and committed to get involved in one or more of the options presented that day.
Attendance included many from other communities; they asked for this presentation to travel, and it has been replicated many times since.
Gov. Mills ran on the premise that abortion law in Maine was adequate. This legislation so betrays those words.
It is time for people to stand and I ask, if not you, than who?
