AUBURN — The L/A Community Little Theatre at 30 Academy St. has announced its 2023 summer musical theater programs for children and teens.

These summer camps will start on Monday, June 19, and end with performances the weekend of July 14-16.

These intensive and performance-based programs will run for four weeks. Campers will be responsible for mastering the material (lines, staging, choreography, and singing), and will participate in individual auditions and group rehearsals. Every camper will participate in the production of a full-scale musical and receive a camp t-shirt and personalized show poster, according to a news release from Roger Philippon at the theater.

The Youth Camp production will be “Matilda Jr.” and the Teen Camp production will be “Mean Girls, Jr.” Directing the Youth Camp will be Linda Vaillancourt. Jude Leaver will lead the Teen Camp.

The Youth Camp is for children who have completed third grade up to those who have completed sixth grade. Teen Camp is for those who have completed seventh grade up to those entering 12th grade. Enrollment for each camp will be capped at 30, so early registration is strongly encouraged. Following theater policy, all campers must show proof of vaccination against COVID-19.

A mandatory orientation for campers and parents is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 17, for youth campers/parents and from 1-4 p.m. for teen campers/parents.
