Eugene Aime Carpentier Jr.

LEWISTON – Eugene Aime Carpentier Jr., 92 passed away peacefully on March 18, 2023, surrounded by his immediate family. Eugene married Rena Larue Feb. 16, 1952, and they resided on Seventh St in New Auburn for 60 years. In 2002, they moved to Begin Estates Mobile Home Park in Sabattus.

In 1952, he was drafted and served in the Army 2nd Armored Division for two years. He spoke fondly and proudly of his time in the service. Gene owned and operated Gene’s Body Shop in New Auburn for 12 years and continued in the automotive field until his retirement. During his retirement he worked as a groundskeeper at Prospect Hill and Pine Acres Golf courses. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors with his sons. He was a dedicated father and would do anything and everything for his family. He enjoyed deer hunting in Wilson Mills and Industry and skiing at Sugarloaf.

Gene is survived by his wife of 71 years Rena, his sons Dennis, Ronald, George, Eugene III and their wives, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his daughter Joline in 1971.

The family invites you to a time of visitation on Thursday March 23, at The Fortin Group Funeral Home, LEWISTON from 9-11 a.m., immediately followed by Liturgy of the Word at 11 a.m., at the funeral home and a committal service at St. Peters Cemetery in Lewiston.
