GREENE — Maine School Administrative District 52 directors unanimously voted to support a $32.4 million budget at their meeting Thursday.

It is a 7.3% increase from this fiscal year’s $30.2 million, down about 1% from the initial budget proposal presented in March.

The budget includes a school resource officer, which the district plans to staff through a contract with the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office.

For a property valued at $200,000, residents of Greene will pay roughly $208 more in school tax; residents of Leeds, $400; and residents of Turner, $240.

A districtwide budget vote will take place at 6 p.m. May 4 at Leavitt Area High School. A validation vote will take place May 18.
