AUBURN – Genesta A. Brown, 87, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023, with her daughter by her side holding her hand. Genesta was born on June 4, 1935, to Alexander and Pauline Dragoon. Genesta was lucky to have met the love of her life, Frank Brown, in her late teens. They were married for 65 years when Frank passed away. They spent all of their married life in Hartford and Buckfield where they developed many friendships.

Together they raised four daughters. Genesta treated each day as a gift and was always smiling, happy and feeling blessed. Genesta loved being a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She was well known for her chicken pies, and had a variety of interests such as canning, gardening, sewing, crafting, and many more. Genesta touched many young lives when she taught 4-H. She was known for her wicked sense of humor, generosity, and kindness.

Genesta was predeceased by her husband, Frank, her siblings, Leon, Edith, Doug and many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Andrus, Brenda Kimball and husband Phil, Kelly Cyr, and Tammie Brown. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service in celebration of Genesta’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main Street, South Paris. Online condolences may be shared with her family at http://www.chandlerfunerals.com.
