CANTON – Phyllis W. (Bedard) Adams passed away on April 23, 2023, at Pinnacle Health Center and was formerly a resident of Mexico. She was born on June 12, 1927 in Lovell, Maine, the daughter of Frances (Larsen) and Wilbur Wakefield. On Feb. 2, 1946, she was married to Herman L. Bedard in Lovell, who predeceased her and later married Arthur Adams of Stoneham, Maine, who also predeceased her.

She is survived by five of her seven children, Brenda Wiley and John Bernard of Auburn; Carl Bedard and Barb Touchette of Lovell; Dodie Heath and Pete Belgarde of Dixfield; Dennis and Laurie Bedard of Mexico and T.J and Ryane Bedard of Mexico. She was predeceased by a daughter, Nancy Vaillancourt of Port Orange, Fla., a son Walter Bedard of Rumford, sons-in-law, Philip Wiley, Boxborough, Mass., and William Vaillancourt of Port Orange, Fla., and a granddaughter Wendy Wiley of Boxborough, Mass. Phyllis was the second oldest of five children and was predeceased by all her siblings. She is survived by 20 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was a devoted mother who enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, knitting and her years as Librarian in North Lovell. She seldom missed a family gathering but Thanksgiving was her absolute favorite.
