I wonder if Auburn residents know that their water supply is at risk.

Excessive development around and upstream of drinking water sources challenge the water quality of Lake Auburn.

LD 1473, “An Act to Protect Certain Unfiltered Drinking Water Sources,” seeks to exempt land within watersheds of sensitive drinking water sources from additional development, which was permitted statewide in LD 2003, enacted last year.

LD 1473 would protect municipalities from additional pollution from development, and in turn it would keep costs down for taxpayers.

This is a call for support of LD 1473. I hope our state representatives support our precious water supply from additional development.
