KITTERY — Ian Libby homered in Gray-New Gloucester’s 6-0 WMC baseball win over Traip Academy on Friday.
On the mound, Libby struck out 15 and only allowed two hits in the shutout.
He was one of eight players to record one hit for the Patriots (2-8). Andrew Keddy and Nick Greer each had an RBI for the Patriots.
Zach Stacy and Colby Christiansen were the only two Rangers (2-9) players to notch a hit. Christiansen went four innings, giving up six runs, though only one of them was earned. He also struck out two.
EDWARD LITTLE 3, CAMDEN HILLS 1: Brady Vincent threw a complete game, allowing four hits and one run while racking up nine strikeouts in the Red Eddies’ (5-5) victory against the Windjammers (1-7) at Central Maine Community College in Auburn.
Campbell Cassidy had an RBI triple in the first, scoring Eli St. Laurent. Cassidy also scored in the inning.
Gage Ducharme had a pinch-hit RBI single in the sixth.
Cam Brown had two hits for Camden Hills. Hunter Bell went six innings and allowed three hits, three runs and had four strikeouts in the loss.
OAK HILL 11, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 1: Ethan Vattaso was a homer short of the cycle in the Raiders’ (8-1) victory against the Falcons (1-6) in Rumford.
Vattaso also drove home a run to go along with his three hits and four runs scored. Trent Drouin had two singles and a triple while driving home four runs. Landon Bangs had a single and three RBIs and Landen Denis drove a pair in on two hits.
Denis went seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, struck out one and had one walk.
Tyler Warren had one of the three Mountain Valley hits and went 5 1/3 innings on the mound, allowing eight runs on seven hits and had five strikeouts.
MESSALONSKEE 8, LEAVITT 2: A five-run sixth inning helped the Eagles (6-2) to a win over the Hornets (6-3) in Turner. Danny Martin had bases clearing double in the inning.
Jack Hammond had a single in the fourth to give Messalonskee a 3-2 lead.
Colten Taylor and Jake Mellen had doubles for Leavitt.
OXFORD HILLS 7, BRUNSWICK 5: A four-run sixth was the difference as the Vikings (6-2) rallied past the Dragons (3-5) in Brunswick.
Nick Binette’s sac fly in the top of the sixth was the second run of the frame and gave Oxford Hills a 5-4 lead.
Eli Soehren’s sac fly in the top of the first kicked off the Vikings’ offense to give the visitors an early 2-0 lead. But Brunswick scored two in the bottom of the second, and after Oxford Hills scored a single run in the top of the third, the Dragons plated two more in the bottom half for a 4-3 lead.
Hunter Tardiff, Kolby Brown and Brady Truman all had two hits for Oxford Hills. Truman pitched the first five innings, then gave way for Kaden Delano. Soehren earned the save by recording the final three outs.
Thomas Harvey took the loss for Brunswick while pitching the first six innings. At the plate, he went 2 for 3.
SOFTBALL
MARANACOOK 13, ST. DOMINIC 0: Allie LaBelle was 4 for 4 with a home run and seven RBIs as the Black Bears (8-2) won in five innings in Auburn.
LaBelle also scored three times. Teammate Nathalie Deane had three hits and two RBIs, and Paige Magee, Shylah Woodford and Alissa Michaud scored twice.
Alexis Michaud surrendered zero runs on six hits over five innings, striking out five.
Kassidy Cote walked twice for St. Dominic (4-5).
OXFORD HILLS 6, BRUNSWICK 0: Kyeria Morse struck out 11 and allowed just two hits and one walk as the Vikings (8-0) shut out the Dragons (5-3) in Brunswick.
Kaydence Morse had two singles for Oxford Hills, which broke open a 1-0 game with five runs in the fifth.
TELSTAR 6, MADISON 2: Makenzie Eliot had two doubles and a triple for the Rebels (2-4) in a win against the Bulldogs (6-4) in Madison.
Payton Berry had a double and a single for Telstar and drove home two runs. Eliot drove in a run as well.
Maylyn Hastings only allowed three hits and two runs while striking out seven in the win.
Madison scored its two runs in the bottom of the first.
WINTHROP 13, LISBON 4: Ella Rice had a three-run homer to lead the Ramblers (4-3) past the Greyhounds (2-4) in Winthrop.
Winthrop’s Lauryn Wood went the distance in the circle and had two singles and two RBIs at the plate.
Julie Letourneau had three singles for Winthrop, while Camdyn Roy, Cate Gustin and Haley Williams each had a pair of singles.
Elle Burkhardt had a triple and a double for Lisbon, and Maria Levesque had a double.
EDWARD LITTLE 9, CAMDEN HILLS 8: Madisyn Scott hit an RBI triple to tie the game in the bottom of the sixth, then scored on a wild pitch as the Red Eddies (5-5) rallied for a win over the Windjammers (2-6) in Auburn.
Scott picked up the win in the circle.
Amanda Raymond had two hits and a run scored for Edward Little. Alexis Kelsea and Izzy Jalbert each got a hit and scored twice.
Maya Stone had two hits and two runs for the Windjammers.
MESSALONSKEE 8, LEAVITT 1: Madrid Wilson had a home run in the Eagles’ (6-2) win over the Hornets (7-2) in Turner.
Elise MacDonald had two singles and a double in the win. Izzy Culver had two singles while Lexington Bayne and Payton Alexander each doubled.
Hailey Turcotte had a double for Leavitt.
OAK HILL 18, MOUNTAIN VALLEY 6: The Raiders (5-4) broke the game wide open with a 12-run fifth inning and beat the Falcons (1-9) in five innings in Rumford.
The score was tied 6-6 heading into the fifth.
Oak Hill racked up 18 hits. Carlee Austin led the onslaught with four hits, including a pair of doubles. She also drove in five runs and scored three. Izzy Whitaker (three runs, three RBIs) and Delia Custer (two runs, RBI) finished with three hits apiece for Oak Hill, which has won three straight games, while Kelsey Young, Ava Rivet and Sierra Lane each had two hits and drove in a run. Lane also scored three runs and Rivet scored twice.
Kelsey Young pitched 3 1/3 innings of relief for Oak Hill to earn the victory. She struck out four batters.
The Raiders’ first six runs were scored in the second inning. Mountain Valley plated two in the first, taking a 2-0 lead, then bounced back from Oak Hill’s six-run outburst with two runs in the bottom of the second and two in the fourth to tie the contest at 6-6.
Shortstop Mallorie Bourret paced the Falcons’ 12-hit attack with a double and two singles, while driving in a run and scoring three. Emma Clukey drove in a team-high three runs on two hits. Layce Boucher (two runs) and Brooke Bennet (one run) also contributed two hits apiece.
GIRLS LACROSSE
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP 11, LINCOLN ACADEMY 7: Ashley Deschamp scored four times for the Black Bears (3-3) in the victory against the Eagles (5-2) in Newcastle.
Eliza Pattershall had a hat trick and an assist in the win while Lily Caban and Xanthe Sawlivich had two goals and two assists apiece.
Mariam Delisle had a hat trick for Lincoln Academy while Celia Brinkler and Marley LeBel scored a pair of goals each.
Stella Lauter made eight saves for the Black Bears.
