AUBURN — Evergreen Subaru and Subaru of America donated a collective $50,000 to United Way following the Subaru Share the Love campaign this past year.
“We were so excited to be named the local charity for the Share the Love Program,” said Joleen Bedard, executive director of United Way of Androscoggin County.
“United Way of Androscoggin County and Evergreen Subaru have a long partnership in serving the community, and this substantial gift will allow us to meet our mission and help many individuals and families,” she said.
Over the past 10 years, Evergreen Subaru and Subaru of America have donated over $350,000 to local organizations through the Share the Love program including YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, Tree Street Youth, Trinity Jubilee Center, Androscoggin Land Trust, Dempsey Center, Androscoggin Humane Society, St. Mary’s Nutrition Center, and Maine Adaptive.
Subaru Share the Love is a national campaign that runs from November to January. During this time, when customers buy a new car, Subaru of America and Evergreen Subaru collectively donate $350 per car to the charity of the customer’s choice. Four charities are national organizations, and the fifth is an organization chosen by the local Subaru dealership.
