NORTH ANSON — Kaden Paaso had a double and three RBIs in Mountain Valley’s 10-2 victory over Carrabec in MVC baseball action Saturday.

Jakob Lapointe also had a double and drove home two runs for the Falcons (2-6). Seneca Jones and Zakai Salmon each had a double and an RBI.

Jones went six innings and allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out six.

Conner Peabody singled and had both RBIs for the Cobras (1-6). Logan Caldwell had a double in the loss.

SOFTBALL
MONMOUTH ACADEMY 6, VALLEY 5 (9 INNINGS):
The Mustangs came through with a run in the bottom of the ninth to claim the extra-innings victory over the Cavaliers in Monmouth.

Brooklyn Federico had a big game for Monmouth (9-0), smacking a triple and three singles. Shanna Parsons added a double and two singles for the Mustangs. Parsons also started the game in the circle, lasting 5 2/3 innings before being relieved by Federico, who didn’t allow any runs to close out the victory.

Madeline Hill had a triple and two singles for Valley (4-2).

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 14, TELSTAR 4: Makinlee Holt and Rylee Turner each had a triple in the Phoenix’s (8-2) five-inning victory against the Rebels (2-5) in Jay.

Both finished with two hits and Mallary Clark had two singles. Turner had four RBIs while Holt drove in three runs. Clark and Jazmine Pingree had two RBIs apiece.

Spruce Mountain scored six runs each in the fourth and fifth innings.

Payton Bell had two singles and an RBI for the Rebels while Morgan Zetts drove home two runs.

WINTHROP 8, OAK HILL 5: The Ramblers (5-3) held off a rally by the Raiders (5-5) to win in Winthrop.

Winthrop jumped out to an 8-1 lead after four innings before Oak Hill scored one run in the sixth and three more in the seventh.

Lauryn Wood pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts for the Ramblers. At the plate, she hit two singles and drove in two runs. Ella Rice doubled and singled and scored twice, and Camdyn Roy collected two RBIs. Winthrop coach Chuck Gurney said Haley Williams had an outstanding defensive game at shortstop.

Kelsey Young struck out six batters across the first four innings for Oak Hill before Izzy Whitaker pitched the final two frames. Carlee Austin tripled and singled while driving in two runs, and Delia Custer had a double and a single.

BOYS LACROSSE
PORTLAND 7, OAK HILL/MONMOUTH/LISBON/ST.DOMINIC 4: Andy Marvin scored five goals as the Bulldogs (5-4) rallied from a 3-1 halftime deficit to beat Oak Hill/Monmouth/Lisbon/St. Dominic (7-2) at Fitzpatrick Stadium in Portland.

Louis Thurston, Harry Rubin and Brady Keller all had two assists for Portland.

Kaiden Delano and Gage Spier each scored twice for Oak Hill.
