DEAR SUN SPOTS: On May 11 I lost a gold hoop earring when I left the dentist’s office at Great Falls Plaza. It could be somewhere on the fourth floor, in the elevator, or in the parking lot outside. If you happen to find it, please call me at 784-7569. — No name, no town

ANSWER: Let us know when your earring is found! Over the years Sun Spots has helped many readers with finding their lost jewelry and other items.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In the May 9 Sun Spots, I made a mistake on my phone number for the Sumner Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser. It should be 388-2981. Please change that for us. Thanks for all the good you do for your readers. — Wilda, no town

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin will offer in-person tutor training. The 10-hour workshop will be held June 15 and 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, 51 Westminster St., Lewiston.

We also have a need for English Conversation Partners and will hold a two-hour virtual training in June, with the date to be determined to fit the schedule of the participants.

Those who are 21 years and older, have at least a 12th grade reading level, are patient, organized and a good listener can be a literacy volunteer. Registration is required.

For information call 753-6658, or email literacy@literacyvolunteersandro.org. Details can also be found on our website at http://www.literacyvolunteersandro.org. – Tahlia, director of Literacy Volunteers-Androscoggin, Lewiston
