
Employees of Maine State Credit Union cut the ribbon April 22 to kick off the 18th annual FeedME 5k walk in Augusta. AUGUSTA — Maine State Credit Union, local hunger organizations and the community joined together April 22 at the 18th annual Maine State Credit Union FeedME 5k at Capitol Park.
Over $60,000 was raised to help 30 local organizations provide food assistance to local Mainers in need.
The approximately three-mile walk was along Augusta’s Kennebec River Rail Trail.
Proceeds from this and other events Maine State Credit Union holds through the year for this cause help to support backpack programs, Meals on Wheels, and stock food pantries at churches and other locations throughout the greater Augusta area.
Businesses help make it possible to host the event and contribute to the fundraising total. Gold sponsors include The Element Group, Lee & Mason Financial Services Inc., Maine Credit Union League, Maine Credit Union League & Synergent, and TriCorp Federal Credit Union.
