Constance A. Lecompte

AUBURN – Constance Allen Lecompte, 88, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the Hospice House in Auburn on May 20, 2023.

Born April 3, 1935 in Rumford, she was the daughter of Joseph and Yvette (Levasseur) Allen. Connie was a graduate of Holy Family School, Lewiston High School, and Central Maine Vocational Technical Institute pursuing her dream to become a nurse working in the field of rheumatology for many years. Following retirement, Connie spent much of her time writing many wonderful stories and beautiful poems.

Connie was a lifelong member of the Ladies of St. Ann and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority of Lewiston (70 years) as well as a communicant of Holy Family Prince of Peace parish. She also loved to attend her monthly high school reunion group. She enjoyed making family heirloom scrapbooks, photo albums, and beautiful quilts for her children and grandchildren.

Connie was predeceased by her husband Roland “Ike” Lecompte whom she married in 1956 and celebrated 64 years of marriage.

She is survived by her children Maryann Lecompte, Susan Lecompte Duffey, Michael Lecompte and his wife Ronda; grandchildren Andrea Webster and husband Aaron, Logan and Lauren Lecompte; and great-grandson, Liam Webster; her sister, Jeanne Collins and her children Marie and Anthony San Nicolas, Patrick and Debbie Dionne, Celine Martin and Toby Chipman, and Timothy Dionne and each of their children; many friends including her closest friends Patsy Rand, Yvette Rousseau, and Pauline Allen; many cousins including Paulette Gosselin and Hazen and Connie Kenney; and a neighbor, Tracy Hall who was like a grandchild to her.

The family would like to thank the caring women of Helping Hands of Lewiston, especially Anita, who spent many hours with Connie helping her knit slippers for her family and friends as well as the clinical staff at the Androscoggin Hospice House for providing a peaceful transition for their Mom. Connie was a volunteer for the homeless through the St. Martin de Porres residence and thrift shop.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 30, from 3 to 6 p.m. The Ladies of St. Ann will pray a decade of the rosary at 4:30 p.m. and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority will honor her lifetime membership at 4:45 p.m. followed by words of remembrance from family and friends. Visitation ceremonies may be viewed via a link to be provided upon request to the family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Church in Lewiston on Wednesday, May 31 at 11 a.m. and will also be available to view through the Parish via livestream at http://www.prince of peace.me. Committal prayers will follow in the small chapel of the mausoleum at St. Peter’s Cemetery, also in Lewiston, after the Mass.
