WINTHROP — The Bailey Public Library invites the public to meet the candidates whose names will be on the ballot in the Tuesday, June 13 Winthrop town election.

All six of the candidates plan to participate in the event, which begins at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 8, in the King Event Room of the Bailey Public Library, 39 Bowdoin St.

The forum will allow Winthrop residents to learn about the candidates vying for the recently vacated Town Council seat, according to a news release from the library.

Library director Richard Fortin will moderate the event, wherein each candidate will have an opportunity to make an opening statement, followed by a discussion of town issues, a period for public question and answer, and closing statements. Attendees wishing to pose a question to the candidates can do so by submitting their question in writing at the event.

The event will also be livestreamed, with the Zoom link available at baileylibrary.org/eventlistings.
