POLAND – George Field Sr., went home to Jesus on June 1, 2023, at age 89. George was born to Eugene and Bessie Field in December 1933 in Lewiston, Maine.

George married his wife, Kitty in 1955. They had eight children, John, Rhonda, Donna, Cindy, George, Jr ., Laura, Kathy, and Glen. After the death of Kitty, he married Joanne in 2003, and after her death, he married Marlene in 2012, both of whom were wonderful wives to him in his later life. He was thankful for all their children that accepted him into their families. 

In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, George was proud to have taught high school in Howland, serve in the U.S. Army, be a University of Maine Alumnus, and lead Word of Life clubs for 28 years, teaching teens about Jesus and God. He worked hard on his dairy farm, was a member of NFO for years and left a successful farm as part of his legacy. Throughout his adult life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He was thankful for Maine Cardiology and all the doctors that helped him. George joins Kitty, Joanne, and Marlene in heaven. 

He is survived by his brother Eugene and sister Rhoda, children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be held at Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at 10 a.m. The graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Mount View Cemetery in Auburn, Maine.
