KINGFIELD — Voters approved a nearly $1.7 million municipal budget Saturday at the annual Town Meeting at Webster Hall.
The budget is $146,465 more than this fiscal year, which ends June 30. It does not include the town’s share for Maine School Administrative District 58 or for Franklin County government. The latter two budgets have not been finalized.
On Friday, residents reelected Selectman Wade Browne to a three-year term. Kim Jordan was elected to the board for three years with 197 votes. She won over incumbent Polly MacMichael who received 131 votes, Town Clerk Savannah Merrill said.
MSAD 58 Director Mary Nodine and write-in candidate Ben Davis each won three-year terms.
Voters also agreed to give $6,000 from the town’s tax increment financing program to Maine’s Northwestern Mountains. Selectmen had recommended $2,000 and the Budget Committee recommended $3,000.
