DEAR SUN SPOTS: You are always so helpful and have a solution to just about everything. I have a lot of wasps on my living room window screen and kill them because they are annoying. How do they get onto the screen and what attracts them? How do you get rid of them?

Also, what is your current Sun Media address? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I’m not a professional bug person, but chances are that the wasps could have a nest very nearby, even in the wall where that window is, or within the window frame.

The very best thing you can do is contact a professional exterminator. They will locate the nest, perhaps use a little smoke to calm the wasps down, then remove the nest as well as close off any nooks and crannies. It’s not that expensive and is worth having trained technicians do the job.

In the past, I’ve recommended Terminix (https://www.terminix.com/, 1-855-752-1104) because that’s the company I have used for years but I would love it if readers have a company that they’ve had good experience with. I had others to recommend but they aren’t taking on new customers at this time. Let’s plump up that Rolodex — the more the merrier.

The Sun Journal office is at 64 Lisbon St., Suite 201 in Lewiston. The mailing address is still P.O. Box 4400 in Lewiston, ME 04243-4400 as seen in the last paragraph of every Sun Spots column.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: This is in response to the reader in Lewiston who misses the flavor of salted herbs. She can find Mailhot’s brand salted herbs at Hannaford. My guess would be that other stores that carry Mailhot’s products would also have them. My mom made soup every Sunday evening, and she always added salted herbs. — Anita, Sabattus

ANSWER: I’m never without this product, and yes, it can be found at Hannaford, but making your own is also so satisfactory if you have the time.
