Dennis George Bolger

LEWISTON – Dennis George Bolger, 70, passed away peacefully at home on July 25, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will always be remembered for his wicked sense of humor and calm demeanor.

Dennis was born on Oct. 13, 1952, the third child of the late George and Patricia (O’Brien) Bolger in Victorville, Calif. He moved several times in his childhood, eventually ending up in Maine. He loved Maine and decided to make his home here.

Dennis served proudly in the Navy for four years, then moved back to Maine, where he met his bride to be, Denise. They were married on Sept. 1, 1984. They bought a house in Sabattus, and they began raising their two wonderful children, Danielle and Matthew. After 10 years in Sabattus, they relocated to a house in Lewiston, which they thoroughly enjoyed.

Dennis worked as a marine electrician at Bath Iron Works for over 35 years. He happily retired in January of 2018. As a retiree, he enjoyed reading, movies, woodworking, and sports. His love of sports included attending Red Sox games at Fenway Park and other ball parks, as well as the Bruins and the Patriots. He could often be found watching all kinds of sports on TV.

Dennis is survived by his lovely wife, Denise; his beautiful daughter, Danielle Waters, and her creative husband Greg, his amazing son, Matthew; his brother, Brian, and his wife, Beverly, and his sister, Kathleen, and her husband, Raymond. He also leaves behind several wonderful nieces and nephews, Stephanie Bolger, Paul Phelps, Derek Phelps, Anthony Bolger, Scott Bolger, Renee Moore, and Melanie Ouellette, along with their families.

He was predeceased by his parents; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Colin Phelps, and his brother, Kevin.
