LEWISTON — Starting on Monday, the Public Works Department will begin repairing a section of East Avenue that was damaged by a water main break during the winter.

The construction area will be from Bartlett Street to Webster Street and is expected to be completed by Tuesday evening. Traffic will be limited to a single lane and allowed in both directions. The sidewalk will be open and no special detours or nighttime work are anticipated.

City officials are encouraging the public to seek alternative routes to avoid delays.
