To the Editor:

I wanted to share with you and our neighbors that I have recently found out the food pantries in our area are running low on supplies of food and the numbers of people needing the food have increased. As part of this general trend, one food pantry told me that local donations from gardeners have practically disappeared.

After the continual rains, our gardens have finally started producing in the past couple of weeks. So, if any gardener has extra vegetables, your neighborhood food pantry sure could use whatever we can share.

More and more people are depending on their food pantries and would be grateful for the summer treat of fresh nutrition.
