LEWISTON – Robert D. Parent, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully on Friday, Sept. 1, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center, with his family by his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Laetitia (Poulin) Parent. Robert attended Lewiston schools and graduated from St. Dom’s. After he graduated, he served in the army during the Korean War.

On May 26, 1956, he married the love of his life Rita Michaud, and they spent 67 wonderful years together.

Robert worked as a supervisor at Knapp Shoe, owned and operated Malenfant’s Dairy for several years and later went to work at Pioneer Plastics until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Rita, a son Michael Parent and his wife Beverly of Auburn, a daughter Monique Willer, and her husband Robert of Lewiston. He leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great-grandchild. He is survived by his sister, Therese Patry of Lewiston.

He was predeceased by his parents and several brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors at Central Maine Medical Center Emergency Department and the ICU unit for the excellent care Robert received.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 7, from 9-10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church in Lewiston at 11 a.m. Committal Prayers will take place following the Mass of Christian Burial in the Chapel at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
