Sheila A. Ferguson

LEWISTON – Sheila A. Ferguson, 78, of Turner unexpectedly passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital early Thursday evening, Aug. 31, 2023.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 18, 1944, the daughter of the late Phil and Caroline (Giberti) Latorella. Sheila graduated from Edward Little High School in 1962, then went on to attend Plus School of Business in Portland. Sheila worked in the banking and finance industry and retired from TD Bank in 2010.

Sheila’s passion was to cook, always trying new recipes she collected, which was her hobby.

She enjoyed every holiday, big and small, decorating the house inside and out for each of them. Christmas was her absolute favorite, baking dozens and dozens of cookies of many varieties making sure everyone had their favorites to enjoy. She hosted both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She especially enjoyed seeing the grandchildren opening their gifts on Christmas Eve which was the family tradition.

She was the proud grandmother of five grandchildren, Becca, Hailey, Cooper, Grady, and Kendall. Sheila became a great-grandmother on May 28, 2023, to Capri, the daughter of her first grandchild Becca and her partner Joe Caiazzo.

Sheila was survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Mark J. Ferguson, her daughter Stephanie L. Langlois and husband Mike Langlois, her son Christopher T Ferguson and his partner Jimmy A. Dallaire, and her other son Matthew S Ferguson and his partner Christine Therriault. She was predeceased by her mother and father-in-law, Bert and Constance Lemieux (Ferguson).

A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place at the funeral home on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, from 4‐6 p.m.
