During Sweden Days on Aug. 5, Rose McKenzie, Select Board administrative assistant, drew the winning ticket from among the thousands sold with the help of Gail Dewildt, secretary of the Sweden Historical Society.

The winner of the 50/50 raffle was Zbigniew “Zibby” Wisniewski from Lovell. Zibby won $577.50, immediately donated $200 to the Sweden Food Pantry, and planned to donate $200 to another local charity.

The winner of the quilt made by Gail Bartlett of Sweden was Kathy Scott.

This is the third year in a row the food pantry has held a 50/50 raffle as a fundraiser in conjunction with Sweden Days, and the first time tickets for a quilt raffle were also sold, according to Linda Bradley, the pantry’s executive director.

The Sweden Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first and third Wednesday of each month. Serving primarily families from the towns of Sweden, Lovell, Fryeburg, Stow, Stoneham, Waterford, Harrison and Bridgton, no eligible family is ever turned away.

For more information, visit swedenfoodpantry.org or the pantry’s Facebook page or call 207-647-5735.
