LEWISTON — The Lewiston volleyball team earned its first win of the season by handling North Yarmouth Academy in three sets on Wednesday.

The Blue Devils (1-3) won a close opening set, 25-21, then rolled to 25-11 and 25-12 victories to close out the win.

Tori Cox was 13 for 14 serving with six aces for Lewiston. She also tallied three kills and two digs and a solo block. Isabella Enos had eight aces and three kills, while Nadifo Heban finished with seven kills, four aces, three digs, two assists and a solo block, and Ella Gahagan contributed eight assists.

Charlotte McLatchy accumulated four aces, three kills and three assists for the Panthers (1-4). Eleanor Zuiches had four assists, two digs and one kill and Sasha Schutz had two kills and two aces.

NYA defeated Lewiston in the JV matchup 25-22, 25-10.

NYA 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Freshmen Caroline Matusovich and Natasha Godfrey scored the goals as the Panthers (4-0-1) remained unbeaten with a victory over the Patriots (2-3) in Yarmouth.

Godfrey scored the first goal. Matusovich added one late in the first half and with 25:46 remaining in the second.
