WALES — Monmouth/Winthrop earned the 300th win of coach Gary Trafton’s career by defeating Oak Hill 6-0 in a girls soccer game Friday.

Riley Smith and Annabelle Carlton led the way for the Mustangs (3-2) with a pair of goals apiece. Taryn Keleher and Abby Atwood each added one goal, and goalie June Foyt made five saves.

Raiders (1-2) goalie MacKenzie Vattaso stopped four shots.

HALL-DALE 5, SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 0: Marie Benoit had a hat trick and an assist in the Bulldogs’ (2-2) victory over the Phoenix (0-5) in Jay.

Hayden Madore added a goal and three assists for Hall-Dale while Addison Tinkham also scored. Maya Hammonds had an assist and Aubrey Gilbert only needed to make one save in goal.

Tyoaka Hodgkin stopped 26 shots for Spruce Mountain.

BOYS SOCCER
MONMOUTH 5, WINTHROP 0: Pat Strout scored three times and set up two goals in the Mustangs (4-0-1) shutout win against the Ramblers (2-3) in Monmouth.

Brandon Smith had a goal and two assists. Kyle Palleschi chipped in with a goal and an assist.

MORSE 3, LEAVITT 1: Wyatt Rowe, Christian Hallowell and Charlie Thelen scored in the first half, and the Shipbuilders (2-3-1) beat the Hornets (1-3) in Bath.

Hallowell’s goal was a penalty kick.

Logan Berube converted a penalty kick for Leavitt in the first half.

Waylon Rhorer made eight saves for Morse, while Vanya Bezhenar stopped eight shots for Leavitt.

FIELD HOCKEY
POLAND 1, FRYEBURG 0: Nora Thornton scored early in the third quarter, giving the Knights (1-4) the edge over the Raiders (0-4) in Fryeburg.

Evelyn Robertson made four saves in the shutout. Fryeburg’s Rayna Wales also stopped four shots.

SPRUCE MOUNTAIN 8, LISBON 0: Olivia Mastine led the Phoenix (3-1) with four goals and two assists in a shutout victory over the Greyhounds (1-2-1) in Lisbon.

Aubrey Kachnovich added two goals and two assists. Brooklyn Fournier and Miley Fournier also scored. Maddie Grimaldi, Mary Hamblin and Leah Burgess had assists in the victory.

HALL-DALE 6, TELSTAR 0: Taurence Tibbetts and Hannah Rauch potted two goals each for the Bulldogs (3-1) in a Mountain Valley Conference win against the Rebels in Bethel.

Mira Skehan and Ashlynn Donahue scored in the second half for Hall-Dale. Delanie MacDonald had a pair of assists while Marinn Perry and Faith McDougal also set a goal up.

Lindsy Stephenson made 18 saves for Telstar.

WINTHROP/MONMOUTH/MARANACOOK 4, DIRIGO 2: Madeline Wagner had a pair of goals for the Ramblers (5-0) in their victory against the Cougars (2-1) in Dixfield.

Izzy Folsom added a goal and two assists and Harper Fyfe had a goal for Winthrop.

Grace Averill and Libbie Errington scored in the second quarter for Dirigo.

Cyara Harriman made two saves for Winthrop and Keira Kelley made one save for Dirigo.

MOUNTAIN VALLEY 3, BOOTHBAY 1: Kaylani Sinclair found the back of the cage twice for the Falcons (1-3) in a win over the Seahawks (0-4) in Rumford.

Sinclair scored in the second and fourth quarters. Mariya Gammon added a goal in the third quarter. Melina Byam, Ella Young and Abby Jones each had an assist for Mountain Valley.

Falcons goalie Cass Amaral had four saves in the win.
