HIRAM — The deaths of two people found Wednesday outside a home on Clemons Cove have been ruled a murder-suicide, state police said Friday.
They were identified as Stephanie Ranieri, 43, and Chad Adams, 48, both of Hiram and who were in a previous relationship, according to Shannon Moss, public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
State police responded to a disturbance complaint about 4 p.m. and discovered the bodies, Moss said.
Autopsies were performed Thursday at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta. The medical examiner ruled Ranieri’s death a homicide and Adams’ a suicide.
There is no threat to the public, Moss said, and the case remains under investigation.
