LEXINGTON, Mass. — Zach Chaisson tallied a hat trick and notched two assists to pace the attack as University of Maine at Farmington rolled past Lesley University 7-0 in a North Atlantic Conference men’s soccer game Saturday.
Chaisson and Cade McHugh both scored within the first 20 minutes, with each assisting on the other’s goal.
Edward Little graduate Mohamed Adow scored consecutive goals to put the Beavers (3-3, 1-0 NAC) up 4-0. Caleb Kolman assisted on the second goal. Chaisson later scored his second goal to give UMaine-Farmington a 5-0 lead at halftime.
McHugh added to the lead 46 seconds into the second half, off an assist from Chaisson, who completed his hat trick eight minutes later.
Jackson Leach took over in goal for the Beavers in the second half and made two saves. Starting goalie Jack Wormald didn’t face a shot on goal in the first half. Josiah Williams made one save for the Lynx (1-5, 1-1).
WOMEN’S SOCCER
LESLEY 5, UMF 0: Kika Diaz scored two goals and Abby Kalou factored into three as the Lynx (4-1-0, 2-0-0 NAC) blanked the Beavers (1-4-0, 0-1-0 NAC) in Lexington, Massachusetts.
Kalou and Chase Livesey each scored for Lesley in the first half. Diaz’s first goal came 64 seconds into the second half, and she added another about 11 minutes later. Both were assisted by Kalou.
Kylie Chagnon rounded out the scoring in the 82nd minute.
Oak Hill graduate Paige Gonya made 10 saves in goal for University of Maine at Farmington, while Madison Reed stopped both shots she faced to secure the shutout for the Lynx.
