Greta Chabot
LEWISTON – Greta Chabot, 90, of Poland, died on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023, at Central Maine Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born on July 18, 1933 in Guerette, she was the daughter of Henry and Desneige (Guerette) Marquis.
Greta’s greatest joy in life was her family who brought her much love and happiness. She loved cats, and fed the stray cats in the neighborhood where she lived for over 45 years. Greta loved to go dancing on Saturday nights with her friends. She will be remembered as a kind and loving person to all who knew her and for always having a beautiful smile.
Greta was predeceased by both parents; her son, Pierre Chabot; her brothers Henry, Norman and Armand Marquis.
Surviving are her children, Debora Cusson of Auburn, Daniel Chabot and his wife, Susan, of Poland, Keith Chabot of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers Donald (Anita) Marquis of Jay, Dennis (Helene) Marquis of Warren; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service held at 1 p.m. on Sept. 30 at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn.
